Having nearly 20 years of experience in residential real estate makes Mike an asset to our team and our clients! Mike grew up in Wichita, Kansas and earned a degree in economics from Wichita State University. He served in the U.S. Army, and has lived in major metropolitan areas that include Chicago and Dallas. Prior to his career in real estate, Mike worked as a corporate controller and CFO for several manufacturing and hospitality businesses; he returned to Overland Park as a regional vice-president of business development for a large financial services company. Mike has an MBA from the University of Dallas with an emphasis on marketing and finance.
Mike is comfortable with home construction and repair, having built his own home in Valparaiso, Indiana, and partnered with a friend to open “Honey Do Home Repair” in Overland Park, a company that worked with realtors and homeowners to do repair and maintenance of properties, in order to improve salability and help facilitate closing of sale, if repairs were required by contract. Additionally, Mike does some part-time real estate construction management – all experience that benefits the transactions he manages for our clients!
Mike’s ties to Kansas City run deep, and his family was proud to return home to Overland Park when the opportunity presented itself. He has always maintained a relationship with the KC community and his solid knowledge of the metro serves him well as a realtor. He has also shared his knowledge and experience to benefit other area realtors as a volunteer with the Education Advisory Group of Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors.
Mike is married to his high school sweetheart, Vici, with whom he shares two children – a son, Chris, and daughter, Kelly. They live in Rolling Woods in Overland Park where they enjoy spending time with their son’s family, including their grandson, as well as making frequent visits to Denver, the home of their daughter and her husband. Mike is a certified firearms instructor and enjoys the shooting sports.
