A long-time Kansas City resident, Whitney received her Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Development at Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo. and her Master of Arts degree in Early Childhood Curriculum and Instruction at University of Missouri, Kansas City. Whitney went on to complete her Juris Doctor degree at Washburn University in Topeka. Her prior work experience ranges from legal case work and mediation to development for area non-profits.

Whitney’s enthusiasm for Kansas City and its myriad communities, combined with the excitement of home ownership for others, led her to embark on a career in real estate in 2017 when she joined our team. As a home owner and real estate investor, Whitney shares her skills as a trained advisor, advocate and mediator to help our clients invest in real estate. Before joining Bradshaw Ghavami Group, Melody spent the past 20 years dedicated to the healthcare industry, first as a nurse, then in leadership and management. Through this experience, Melody developed solid business management skills that translate to her role on our team. Melody applies her business management experience to Bradshaw Ghavami Group to support continued growth.

Melody joined the team in March 2017, and this summer earned her real estate license in both Kansas and Missouri. She serves as a partner on our team focused on business development and group management, and will also work directly with our clients in transactions and sales. Melody lived in the Northland for 31 years, and has a strong knowledge of the area, specifically Liberty. She now lives in Knightsbrooke at Nottingham in Overland Park with her husband, Majid, and four children between them. Jessica has been with Bradshaw Ghavami Group since 2012, serving as our marketing manager, and received her Kansas real estate license in 2013. Jessica is a graduate of the University of Kansas and earned a journalism degree in business communications. find a lenderSo, you’ve decided to buy a new house and are eager to get out and start looking. That’s fantastic and we hope to have the opportunity to help guide you! But in all honesty, there are a few things you need to do before you begin a serious search, and one of them is to start on your financing. This is a biggie – especially given the current market conditions.

Inventory across Kansas City is super low and demand is high. This is putting many buyers in competitive circumstances. In this environment, sellers are less likely to accept a contingent offer. So, you need to have your house sold or at the very least listed, if you are not in a position to buy without a contingency. Sellers are also not going to consider an offer without a preapproval letter. This will be provided to you by the lender you select.


We work with a variety of lenders on a regular basis. If you need a couple of referrals, we can help with that. We recommend our buyers talk with at least two lenders before making a commitment to ensure you are getting the best loan package for your needs. Overall, you’ll probably find rates to be very similar. So, what you need to do is look at the details – pay attention to different fees that might be part of the deal.

We get that this isn’t the “fun” part of buying a home, but trust us that this is really important right now! When you’re out touring homes and walk into “the one” you want to be able to put your best, most solid offer forward. And with homes moving quickly, there isn’t a lot of time to get all of this together before submitting an offer. Unfortunately, there just isn’t a lot of give on these terms right now. A clean, strong contract is key and we have lots of experience presenting offers and managing the negotiations that follow.
